Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1
Nashville → Knoxville → Washington D.C
Morning:
  • Depart from Nashville 8:00 AM on a luxury Metro Livery Charter Bus.
  • Comfort stops in Knoxville, TN for breakfast and rest breaks.

Afternoon:

  • Lunch stop in Bristol, VA.
  • Continue to Washington D.C., arriving in the evening.

Evening:

  • Check-in at the Hotel
  • Welcome dinner at Old Ebbitt Grill, an iconic D.C. restaurant.
Day 2
Washington D.C. - National Monuments & Capitol Hill
Morning:
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Guided Tour of National Monuments: Visit the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and World War II Memorial.
  • Explore Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and Korean War Veterans Memorial.

Afternoon:

  • Lunch at Founding Farmers, offering American comfort food.
  • Guided Tour of Capitol Hill: Visit the U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress.
  • Free time at National Archives to see the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution.

Evening:

Day 3
Smithsonian Museums & National Gallery of Art
Morning:
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit the Smithsonian Institution Museums:
  • National Museum of American History
  • National Air and Space Museum
  • National Museum of African American History and Culture

Afternoon:

  • Lunch at Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian Café.
  • Explore the National Gallery of Art (West Building) for world-renowned art collections.

Evening:

  • Potomac River Cruise for scenic views of the Washington D.C. skyline and monuments.
  • Dinner 
Day 4
National Gardens & Arlington National Cemetery
Morning:
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit the United States Botanic Garden and explore its diverse plant collections.
  • Guided tour of Arlington National Cemetery to visit the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, John F. Kennedy’s gravesite, and the Iwo Jima Memorial.

Afternoon:

  • Lunch at The Army Navy Club near Arlington Cemetery.
  • Explore The Pentagon Memorial or relax at Georgetown Waterfront Park.

Evening: Dinner at 

Day 5
Day Trip to Richmond, VA - Civil War History
Morning:
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Depart for a day trip to Richmond, Virginia (~2 hrs drive).
  • Guided tour of the American Civil War Museum and Virginia State Capitol.

Afternoon:

  • Lunch at The Jefferson Hotel, a historic and luxurious dining spot.
  • Visit St. John’s Church, where Patrick Henry delivered his famous “Give me liberty, or give me death!” speech.
  • Free time for shopping and exploring Monument Avenue.

Evening: Return to Washington D.C. and enjoy dinner 

Day 6
National Zoo & Smithsonian Institution Building
Morning:
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit the Smithsonian National Zoological Park, home to pandas, elephants, and more.

Afternoon:

  • Lunch at National Zoo’s Mane Restaurant.
  • Explore the Smithsonian Institution Building (The Castle) and stroll through the National Mall Gardens.

Evening:

  • Dinner at Georgetown’s The Blue Duck Tavern.
  • Evening walk through Georgetown’s historic district and Canal.
Day 7
Day Trip to Antietam & Harpers Ferry
Morning:
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Depart for Antietam National Battlefield (~1.5 hrs drive).
  • Visit the site of the bloodiest day in American history.

Afternoon:

  • Lunch at Harper’s Ferry, WV, a historic town on the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers.
  • Explore Harper’s Ferry National Historical Park, known for its role in the Civil War and John Brown’s raid.

Evening:

  • Return to Washington D.C.
  • Dinner 
Day 8
National Cathedral & Shopping
Morning:
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit the Washington National Cathedral, an architectural marvel with stunning views of the city.
  • Explore the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum or visit Ford’s Theatre, where Abraham Lincoln was assassinated.

Afternoon:

  • Lunch at The Willard InterContinental Hotel.
  • Free time for shopping at Georgetown’s high-end boutiques or National Mall shops.

Evening: Farewell Dinner at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts overlooking the Potomac River, complete with a performance if desired.

Day 9
Return to Nashville
Morning:
  • Breakfast and check-out.
  • Depart Washington D.C. at 8:00 AM.
  • Enjoy comfort stops along the way, with lunch in Bristol, TN.

Evening: Arrive back in Nashville by 7:00 PM.
